Extra, Extra Read All About Our Upcoming Events!

We adore the special events we are able to host regularly here at our tea room. We love featuring local artists, inviting crafters to come work on their projects over a cup of tea, and supporting our fellow local businesses and programs. It means a lot to us to have the ability to use our quaint tea room for more than just afternoon tea.

February is a busy month for these special events!

Lit Tea- Saturday, February 8 at 3:30 pm

This month’s Lit Tea features local author, Ramona Scarborough.

Ramona Scarborough has given birth to 10 books. Over one-hundred of her offspring in the form of stories and articles have been adopted by magazines such as Guideposts, Country Woman, Family Circle, Oregon Humanities, and numerous anthologies and online venues.

At an early age, Ramona dreamed of being an author. However, she worked at her husband’s business and raised five children, and didn’t have much free time. She went back to college after they were all in school to take writing and grammar classes.

Now, she loves research and has been known to forget to eat lunch when she gets going on a story.

This year she won 2nd place in The New Deal Writing Competition and The 24hr Writing Contest. Last year she won the Gracie Award and won the Westminster Heritage Festival Writing Contest.

Ramona has conducted writing workshops and freelance writing courses. She was the opening speaker at the April 2019 Women’s Conference in Salem, Oregon. She has been a member of the Salem Fiction Writer’s Group for fifteen years and has found the participants to be an excellent source of encouragement.
